St. Louis Browns
In 1881, the Athletics Stadium Club (Sportsman's Park andClub) formed Team St.Louis Browns, and add just the American Association for the establishment of this team that is the predecessor of today's Cardinals. Later, the American Association disbanded in 1891, Brown joined the team in 1892, then National League (National League). 1898, Robinson Brothers bought the Browns, and the team changed its name to Perfectos (a cigar name) also very eye-catching to wear the red shirt and socks. Later, a local newspaper's sports journalists to hear a female fan of these players praise: 'What a lovely Cardinals figure (What a lovely shade of cardinal)', but in the column on the use of Cardinals (Cardinals) to the nickname call the team and get the majority of the fans response.
